Presidenta de la CCSS analiza imponer una multa a pacientes que no asistan a citas médicas

La Presidenta Ejecutiva de la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS), Marta Esquivel, analiza imponer una multa a pacientes que no asistan a citas o procedimientos médicos.
Esto surge debido a los elevados niveles de ausentismo observados y al uso inapropiado de las salas de emergencia, las cuales están saturadas, situación que incluso ha llevado a declarar una emergencia institucional.
“Tenemos que corregir el ausentismo de alguna forma con una campaña o con algún elemento que desmotive, ya sea una multa o un apercibimiento posterior que desmotive el ausentismo, porque el costo para la institución es alto y al final lo terminan pagando todos los asegurados”, explicó la jerarca a Noticias Monumental.
“Entre un 10 % y un 15 % de ausentismo les cuento que eso nos está pasando una factura muy alta”, agregó.
Para enfrentar el colapso de los servicios, la CCSS habilitará 1.147 plazas en los próximos meses.
