Rescatistas localizan a cocodrilo que atacó y arrastró a niño en Matina
La hipótesis más fuerte que manejan las autoridades es que el reptil se habría comido al niño, esto al no localizar el cuerpo.
El equipo de rescatistas que trabajó en la búsqueda del pequeño Julio Otero, quien fue atacado y arrastrado por un cocodrilo el domingo anterior en Matina, Limón, aseguraron que la tarde de este martes lograron ver al animal.
Sin embargo, no encontraron los restos del niño de ocho años.
Miguel Batista, contó a diario La Teja, que el enorme reptil salió del agua directo al playón, a unos 150 metros de donde se dio el ataque.
“Estábamos, como dicen, atisbando al cocodrilo, esperando a que saliera. La experiencia nos decía que el animal iba a salir a comer hoy. Hemos buscando en toda la zona pero no hemos podido dar con más rastros”, declaró Batista quien forma parte del grupo Rescate y Evacuación de Matina.
“Este cocodrilo tiene una cueva aquí, de eso no tenemos duda, sentimos mucha tristeza por lo que ocurrió. Es un niño de ocho añitos apenas, hemos intentado por todas partes, el río es bastante caudaloso”, agregó.
El rescatista contó que el sitio es peligroso y que en estos días de búsqueda han observado una gran cantidad de cocodrilos, sin embargo, comentó que por el tamaño del animal y los testigos, están seguros que el “coco” que miraron este martes es el causante de la tragedia.
Búsqueda llegó a su fin
La Cruz Roja Costarricense (CRC) dio por finalizadas las labores de búsqueda del cuerpo del niño Otero.
Así lo dio a conocer Tatiana Díaz, coordinadora regional de la institución benemérita en el Atlántico.
La cruzrojista afirmó que no hubo resultados positivos en el tercer día de búsqueda.
“Las labores de búsqueda finalizan el día de hoy, ya que no tenemos claro un patrón de trabajo que nos pueda decir que por aquí podría aparecer parte del cuerpo del niño”, declaró Díaz.
Según indicó la coordinadora la hipótesis más fuerte que se maneja es que el reptil se habría comido al niño, esto al no localizar el cuerpo en los alrededores.
“Toma fuerza la hipótesis de que fue que el cocodrilo se lo comió (al niño)”, comentó la Díaz.
