Mamá de niño atacado por cocodrilo en río Matina pide que reptil sea sacrificado

“Así como el lagarto mató a mi niño, así que lo maten a él”, es lo que pide Margine Fernández Flores, madre del niño Julio Rubén Otero Fernández, de 8 años quien el pasado domingo fue atacado por el reptil en el río Matina en Limón.
En declaraciones al medio nicaragüense La Prensa, la mamá del pequeño Julio Rubén, reveló que desde el pasado domingo, cuando sucedió la desgracia, no ha podido dormir porque no puede borrar de su mente el momento en que el lagarto se hundía en el río llevando en sus fauces al niño.
“Yo traté de quitarle al niño, pero el lagarto me atacó y casi me agarra de una pierna”, relató la atribulada madre, quien ha decidido no volver al río donde ocurrió la fatalidad para no revivir el momento que ella describe como “horroroso”.
Esperan recuperar restos del pequeño
Jeannette Fernández Flores, tía materna del niño, afirmó vía telefónica a La Prensa , que su familia quiere que el cocodrilo sea sacrificado “para poder sacar el cuerpo del niño” para darle cristiana sepultura.
“Ellos (los del Sinac, Sistema Nacional de Áreas de Conservación ) lo que quieren es capturarlo y llevarlo a otro lugar, pero nosotros lo que estamos pidiendo es que lo sacrifiquen para poder recuperar los restos del niño y poder enterrarlo”, expresó Jeannette Fernández.
La tía del menor también confirmó que están pidiendo ayuda económica para sufragar gastos en los que está incurriendo la familia que permanece en el río con la esperanza de poder encontrar el cuerpo sin vida del niño.
“Para quienes tengan la buena voluntad de ayudarnos nos pueden llamar al teléfono celular número 6322-8740”, manifestó Fernández.
Julio Rubén Otero Fernández era el cuarto de cinco hijos procreados por su padre del mismo nombre y su madre, Margine Fernández, quienes al igual que sus cuatro hermanos son de una comarca de Rancho Grande, Matagalpa.
Cocodrilo fue visto en playón
A las 12:04 minutos del mediodía de este viernes personal del Sinac ubicó al lagarto que el pasado domingo atacó al niño.
El reptil, que mide entre cuatro y cinco metros de largo, apareció en el mismo sitio donde el pasado lunes se encontró el pantalón del pequeño en el río Matina, según un video compartido por el medio local El Bataneño.
“El lagarto que está aquí es mismo de que sacamos fotos hace unos días; lo único que ahora donde apareció la pantaloneta del niño y en las fotos de la vez pasada aparece a 150 metros río abajo en otro playón”, se explica en el video.
Pusieron trampas a lagarto
Para apresar al animal que se tragó al niño, el personal del Sinac se está apoyando en lo establecido en el artículo 22 de la Ley de Vida Silvestre de Costa Rica, el referido artículo permite la captura de un animal cuando este haya causado algún daño.
Para capturar al cocodrilo el personal de la entidad dispuso ponerle trampas al lagarto para atraparlo antes que algunas personas cumplan la amenazas de matarlo por considerarlo un peligro.
