UIA en el ojo del huracán por exigir prueba de embarazo a aspirante a empleo
“Nosotras tenemos un requisito más solo por ser mujeres”, comentó la víctima.
Una joven denunció en sus redes sociales que uno de los requisitos que debía cumplir para aspirar a un puesto en una universidad privada era presentar una prueba de embarazo negativa.
En entrevista con Teletica.com, la mujer, quien prefirió mantener su identidad protegida, contó cómo fue proceso de reclutamiento que enfrentó mientras concursaba por un trabajo en la Universidad Internacional de las Américas (UIA).
La joven, contó que fue contactada por medio de una red social profesional para aplicar al puesto de “analista curricular”.
“Me llamaron a una entrevista presencial y fueron muy enfáticos en que fuera vestida formal y con zapatos altos, yo no soy muy de usar tacones, pero pedí unos y fui. En el camino iba practicando para contestar a posibles preguntas que me fueran a hacer sobre el currículum o trabajo. Pero llegué y de eso no se habló nada”, contó la muchacha.
“Llegó el que iba a ser mi jefe inmediato a contarme grosso modo cuáles iban a ser las funciones de mi puesto. Vio mis atestados de doble licenciada en la UCR y lo que me ofreció por el puesto fueron 500.000 colones mensuales”, agregó.
La joven aceptó la oferta laboral pues tenía varios meses de estar desempleada. Luego se puso en contacto con la reclutadora de Recursos Humanos quien le indicó que para continuar con el proceso de contratación debía presentar una serie de documentos y pruebas.
Cuando le mencionaron las pruebas de laboratorio ella pensó que se trataba de unas pruebas de detección de uso de drogas, sin embargo, al llegar al laboratorio se llevó la sorpresa de que se trataba de una prueba de embarazo.
“El carné de vacunación COVID-19 con esquema completo, dos cartas de recomendación, pasar unas pruebas psicométricas y ‘pasar’ unas pruebas de laboratorio. Yo pensé que eran pruebas de dopaje. Fue al día siguiente, di mi nombre y ellos ya tenían la información de la UIA de que yo me iba a presentar a hacerme exámenes de laboratorio de ‘control de empresa’, y cuando pregunté de qué era me indicaron que era de embarazo”, explicó.
La mujer contó que apenas se conoció el resultado negativo, la reclutadora la llamó para indicarle que “todo había salido bien” y que todo estaba listo para formalizar su contratación.
Pero la pesadilla no terminó ahí.
La joven ingresó a laborar, no recibió capacitación y aseguró que nunca la pusieron a ejercer el cargo por el que la contrataron pues que la prioridad del centro de estudios era que luciera bien.
“Lo único que querían era que me viera guapa”, recordó. Ante estas situaciones, la mujer decidió poner la renuncia, denunciando “discriminación por género y pésimo ambiente laboral”.
“El día que yo entré entramos tres personas, dos mujeres y un hombre. Yo a él le pregunté si le habían pedido algún tipo de examen de sangre o dopaje y dijo que no. Ahí empieza una discriminación por género, nosotras tenemos un requisito más solo por ser mujeres”, finalizó la mujer.
¿Qué dice la UIA?
Máximo Sequeira Alemán, rector de la UIA indicó a Telenoticias que todo se debió a un “error interno de comunicación”.
Y reconoció que el proceso de reclutamiento “no debió hacerse así”.
