Presidente Chaves: “Dije que la Caja está quebrada, no que esté muerta o haya que cerrarla”
El mandatario explicó el verdadero motivo por el que hace unos días indicó que la CCSS está en quiebra.
El presidente Rodrigo Chaves Robles ha expresado en diversas ocasiones su oposición al aumento salarial, de 7500 colones, para los funcionarios de la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) que fue aprobado semanas atrás en junta directiva y que terminó costándole el puesto de presidente ejecutivo de la entidad a Álvaro Ramos.
Luego de la destitución de Ramos, el pasado 18 de septiembre, el mandatario emitió las siguientes palabras: “La Caja está quebrada, seamos francos. En términos actuariales el IVM tiene un déficit enorme; el servicio de Salud tiene serios problemas financieros”.
Las declaraciones de Chaves fueron refutadas por Ramos el 23 de septiembre anterior cuando emitió un mensaje de despedida: “La CCSS no está quebrada. Lejísimos de eso”, dijo.
Este miércoles durante el inicio de la gira por Puntarenas, el mandatario explicó el verdadero motivo por el que hace unos días indicó que la CCSS está en números rojos.
“Cuando dije que la Caja está quebrada, no digo que esté muerta, o que haya que cerrarla. Lo que digo es que hay que tomar acciones ya, porque el valor de los flujos de pensiones que tiene que pagar la Caja a través de los años, es menor que los flujos de ingresos que va a recibir de los que cotizan”, respondió Chaves a un grupo de periodistas en declaraciones publicadas por el medio El Observador.
El presidente indicó que de seguir por el mismo camino llegará el momento en el que anuncien que no hay plata para pagarle la pensión a nadie.
“Si eso no es estar quebrado ¿Qué es?”, aseveró.
En el encuentro con los comunicadores Rodrigo Chaves manifestó que la CCSS no tiene el músculo financiero para asumir esos incrementos y menos de forma retroactiva.
Además del tema de las pensiones, el mandatario indicó que en cuestión de cinco años la entidad perdería los ingresos que requiere para brindar una buena atención de salud.
“Lo mismo con el sistema de salud. De aquí al 2027 la Caja va a perder los ingresos necesarios para atender a todos los asegurados de manera tal que va a tener que bajar aún más la calidad del servicio”, mencionó.
