Presidencia anuncia que Costa Rica será sede de conferencia para atraer inversión y empleo

Casa Presidencial anunció la mañana de este jueves que Costa Rica será la sede que albergará la Conferencia de Negocios de América Central. El encuentro, en el que participarán más de 90 compañías trasnacionales, se realizará del 21 al 23 de agosto.
Esta conferencia, que busca atraer inversión para generar más empleo en el país, es uno de los resultados positivos de la participación del presidente de la República, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, en la Cumbre de las Américas que se llevó a cabo en junio anterior.
Dentro de los expositores que estarán presentes en la conferencia destaca Marisa Lago, subsecretaria de Comercio para el Comercio Internacional de Estados Unidos. Ella es la líder del gobierno norteamericano para ayudar a las empresas estadounidenses a ingresar o expandirse en los mercados internacionales.
“Costa Rica ofrece un mercado atractivo que está lleno de oportunidades para las empresas y los trabajadores estadounidenses. Agradezco al presidente Chaves por su asociación y espero trabajar juntos para aumentar aún más los lazos comerciales y de inversión bilaterales, lo que beneficiará a los ciudadanos de ambas naciones”, manifestó Lago
Una de las presentaciones que se impartirá es sobre la perspectiva económica regional en donde se analizará el impacto de la pandemia por Covid-19, la inflación, la guerra de Ucrania y otros elementos que inciden.
También se hablará sobre proyectos para mejorar los accesos a oportunidades en la región en el que se abordarán las tendencias en los proyectos de infraestructura a nivel de América Central.
La conferencia encierra la celebración del décimo sexto aniversario del Tratado de Libre Comercio entre Centroamérica y Estados Unidos (CAFTA, por sus siglas en inglés) que ha sido una de las principales herramientas para hacer negocios entre los países de la región y la nación norteamericana.
En esta relación Estados Unidos es el principal socio comercial de Costa Rica y la región así como la fuente más importante de la inversión extranjera directa.
