Debido a las condiciones atmosféricas asociadas al nuevo empuje frío la Comisión Nacional de Emergencias (CNE) elevó el estado de alerta amarilla para la Zona Norte y el Caribe; así como la alerta verde para el Valle Central y el Pacífico Norte.
A esta hora la entidad reporta 10 eventos por inundaciones: 4 en Guápiles, 3 en Siquirres, 2 en Matina y 1 en Turrialba. La mayoría de ellos relacionados con desbordamientos de canales y algunos ríos pequeños.
“El país está atravesando por los efectos del empuje frío número 6, además tenemos la zona de convergencia intertropical sobre nuestro territorio. Estos factores generan un ambiente altamente inestable sobre todo el territorio nacional, pero principalmente en la Zona Norte y el Caribe de nuestro país. Las lluvias y los vientos también se han proyectado hasta el Valle Central y se prevé que también nos van a afectar el sector de Guanacaste”, indicó Lidier Esquivel, jefe de Investigación y Análisis del Riesgo de la CNE.
