Prendas arremete contra Pilar Cisneros por idea de llevar a referendo aborto y eutanasia
“Lamentamos la voluntad y desconocimiento de la nueva diputada por generar polarizaciones sociales”, manifestó el diputado de Nueva República.
El diputado del bloque Nueva República (NR), Jonathan Prendas, arremetió contra la diputada electa del partido Progreso Social Democrático (PSD), Pilar Cisneros, luego de que la periodista afirmara que el aborto y eutanasia deben resolverse por referendo.
Cisneros declaró al periódico La Nación, el pasado 24 de febrero, que las decisiones sobre el aborto y la eutanasia deben ser sometidas a consulta popular, en vez de dejarlas en manos de los diputados electos.
Además, sostuvo que el matrimonio igualitario también debió resolverse por esa vía.
“Hay temas que yo creo que la decisión debería estar en manos del pueblo. Caso concreto: la eutanasia. Casos concreto: aborto. O sea, esas son leyes, o perdón, no son leyes; esas son decisiones que básicamente tienen un enorme impacto social. Y yo no veo por qué va a ser un grupo de 57 diputados el que tiene que decidir cosas tan sensibles y tan importantes para la población costarricense, en lugar de decidirlo como un referéndum”, declaró la futura congresista a La Nación.
Las declaraciones no fueron recibidas de buena manera por el legislador Jonathan Prendas quien aseguró lo siguiente: “Lamentamos la voluntad y desconocimiento de la nueva diputada por generar polarizaciones sociales. Todos esos temas, por su complejidad, son reserva de ley”.
“Nunca estaría dispuesto a llevar esos temas a una contienda social que podría generar más afectaciones que decisiones oportunas frente a una sociedad cada vez más pluricultural que se ve más expuesta a roces entre derechos humanos. Reposo en el hecho de que la nueva Asamblea no caiga en esos errores”, agregó.
La jurisprudencia de la Sala Constitucional indica que los derechos fundamentales no pueden ser sometidos a un referendo.
