Policía de Fronteras rescató un mono carablanca que una familia tenía en cautiverio
El animal silvestre se encontraba en la zona norte del país.
Según dio a conocer el Ministerio de Seguridad Pública (MSP), este fin de semana la Policía de Fronteras dio con el rescate de un mono carablanca o capuchino, que mantenían en cautiverio dentro de una vivienda.
El hallazgo del animal silvestre se dio en la zona de Punta Cortés, de Los Chiles, en la zona norte del país.
“Oficiales fronterizos descubrieron, dentro de una vivienda, un mono carablanca que un lugareño tenía como mascota.
“Tras informarle a dicha persona la ilegalidad de este hecho, las autoridades decomisaron el pequeño primate a fin de entregárselo a guardaparques del Sistema Nacional de Áreas de Conservación (SINAC), quienes lo trasladaron hasta un centro de rescate animal”, indicó el MSP.
Cabe destacar que de acuerdo con la Ley de Conservación de Vida Silvestre, que prohibe la captura y la domesticación de animales silvestres, entre otras actividades, las penas podrían variar desde una multa económica hasta años de cárcel.
