Ministra de Educación: Niños deberán aprender a leer y escribir desde primer grado
Anna Katharina Müller dijo que encontró alumnos de tercer grado que apenas están aprendiendo a escribir la palabra mamá.
Los niños de primer grado de las escuelas públicas deberán concluir el año con la capacidad de leer y escribir.
Así lo dio a conocer la jerarca del Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP), Anna Katharina Müller.
Una reforma en el 2014 permite que estudiantes que desconozcan leer y escribir no tengan impedimento para avanzar a segundo grado.
El objetivo de la medida que eliminó como requisito aprobar el aprendizaje de la lectura y escritura en primer año era bajar la repitencia en primer grado. La directriz se llevó a cabo durante la administración de Laura Chinchilla Miranda.
“Con el Consejo Superior de Educación hemos tomado una decisión de retornar a que en primer grado los niños aprendan a leer y a escribir, entonces ahorita estamos diseñando el programa para aquellos niños que participaron en ese otro esquema y que están tal vez entrando en cuarto grado”, comentó Müller.
La jerarca explicó que estarán ejecutando el plan a través del aumento de recargo a los docentes que están a cargo de estos grupos de estudiantes que actualmente presentan dificultades o que del todo no tienen las bases en lectoescritura.
“He entrado en centros educativos donde hay niños ya terminando tercero, empezando cuarto, que están apenas escribiendo mamá, entonces a ese grupo de estudiantes hay que darles un refuerzo vía recargos de docentes para que se puedan recuperar y salir de eso”, agregó la ministra.
¿Y qué piensan los padres de familia?
Xiomara Suárez es madre de un menor que va para tercer grado de escuela y aún tiene grandes dificultades para aprender a leer y escribir.
“Le ha costado mucho leer y escribir está muy atrasado siempre todos los años, igual volvió a quedar en tercero. Me le ayudan, lo ponen a hacer dictados con los libros que ya han pasado”, declaró Suárez a Noticias Repretel.
Por su parte Marcela Poveda manifestó: “Yo creo que es mejor porque así los chiquitos no sufren más en las pasadas porque a la hora de los exámenes ellos se complican y se estresan mucho”.
