Inauguran la Ruta Eléctrica San José – Ciudad de Panamá
Cargadores eléctricos están instalados a lo largo de los 900 kilómetros de recorrido entre ambas capitales.
A partir de este lunes las personas que conducen vehículos eléctricos podrán viajar desde San José hasta Ciudad de Panamá y viceversa, sin tener que preocuparse por la carga de su automóvil eléctrico, cero emisiones.
La Asociación Costarricense de Movilidad Eléctrica (ASOMOVE) y la Secretaría Nacional de Energía iniciaron el viaje inaugural de la Ruta Eléctrica San José – Ciudad de Panamá con un grupo de 10 vehículos eléctricos y cerca de 25 asociados.
“Con la bienvenida de esta Ruta Eléctrica queda demostrado que los panameños o costarricenses podrán perfectamente manejar desde San José, hasta Panamá y viceversa en un vehículo eléctrico, sin preocuparse por la carga de su vehículo”, señaló Jorge Rivera Staff, Secretario de Energía de Panamá.
La Ruta Eléctrica cuenta con el apoyo del Gobierno de Costa Rica, el Gobierno de Panamá y ONU Ambiente.
Un trabajo continuo que permite impulsar los beneficios y alcances de la movilidad eléctrica y mostrar que Costa Rica es líder regional en el proceso de transición energética y posee una red sólida de recarga eléctrica en las principales rutas de transporte y de frontera a frontera.
“Este logro es fruto del esfuerzo de nuestras instituciones públicas, ASOMOVE y de todas las empresas privadas que se han sumado al Plan Nacional de Descarbonización, cuya meta es tener emisiones netas cero para el año 2050”, indicó Dobles.
Por su parte Andrea Meza, Ministra de Ambiente y Energía de Costa Rica aseguró: “Nos parece positivo que se realicen este tipo de iniciativas, para que más personas se acerquen a los vehículos eléctricos, que se derriben mitos, en cuanto al uso, y se muestre la funcionalidad de estos vehículos en distintos contextos, con distintos climas”.

La electricidad que alimenta esta red de carga es renovable. En Panamá los cargadores utilizan plantas solares y energía eólica, lo que combina las energías renovables con vehículos cero emisiones, una importante contribución en la reducción de emisiones.
Los cargadores de Costa Rica son de carga rápida y operados por el Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), igualmente alimentados con electricidad renovable, ubicados en zonas como Herradura, Jacó, Quepos, Dominical, Uvita, Palmar Norte y Ciudad Neily.
En Panamá, los cargadores son privados y operados por ENEL X, Evergo, La Casa de las Baterías y BYD, se contarán con cargadores semirápidos así como cargadores rápidos en Chitré, La Chorrera y Ciudad de Panamá.
En Costa Rica ya existen dos Rutas Eléctricas: La Fortuna y Monteverde, pronto entrará en funcionamiento la de Nosara. El transporte representa el 24 % de las emisiones globales de CO2, y los vehículos de carretera representan casi el 75 % del total, por lo que es urgente pasar de la quema de combustibles fósiles a vehículos que funcionen con electricidad limpia y renovable.
La Ruta Eléctrica cuenta con el patrocinio de ENE X, Evergo, BYD, La Casa de las Baterías, Walmart, EV2, Hyundai, Promerica y Porcerámica.
