Grupos provida harán vigilias de oración de 40 días frente a seis hospitales
Este 2 de marzo inicia la campaña denominada “40 días por la vida”.
Costa Rica se suma a la extensa lista de 64 países que realizan la campaña “40 días por la vida”.
El 2 de marzo, con el comienzo de la Cuaresma, los grupos provida realizarán vigilias de oración frente a seis hospitales de la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS).
De acuerdo con una publicación del periódico La Nación, para este 2022 los integrantes del movimiento, que en su mayoría son católicos, pero también hay de otros grupos religiosos, estarán en oración durante esos 40 días de 6 a. m. a 6 p. m. frente a los siguientes hospitales: San Juan de Dios, en San José; San Rafael, en Alajuela; San Vicente de Paúl, en Heredia; San Francisco de Asís, en Grecia; Fernando Escalante Pradilla, en Pérez Zeledón; y el Enrique Baltodano Briceño, en Liberia, Guanacaste.
Al respecto, la coordinadora de esta actividad en el país, Elsa Naranjo, aseguró que el inicio de esta campaña, que durará hasta el próximo 10 de abril, Domingo de Ramos, tiene un significado especial por el gran impacto que ha tenido en la población, y por la conciencia que ha creado acerca del valor de la vida, y la protección de los niños aún no nacidos.
Naranjo, explicó a La Nación que para ser parte de la campaña los voluntarios tienen que firmar una declaración de paz en la que se comprometen a respetar a los transeúntes, la propiedad privada y pública, a las autoridades y a no actuar de forma violenta ante cualquier situación que se presente. Por lo que el movimiento es pacífico.
“Nos comprometemos a orar en la vía pública exclusivamente. Esto es una batalla espiritual. Por eso, nos agarramos y confiamos en las armas que Dios nos da que es el ayuno y la oración”, aclaró Naranjo, quien dijo que se cumplirán todos los protocolos sanitarios, como el uso de mascarilla.
“Salimos a la calle a anunciar el evangelio de la vida, que es un don de Dios y es sagrado. Este es un movimiento mundial, que se inició en Estados Unidos en el 2004. En países donde el aborto es legal, la vigilia se hace frente a centros de aborto. Aquí la hemos hecho en parques, en una calle transitada, en una avenida”, agregó.
Naranjo contó al rotativo que desde que las vigilias se realizan en el país tres mujeres cambiaron su decisión de abortar. El grupo les brindó acompañamiento y guía. En el mundo, se han evitado 20.700 abortos, comentó.
Este movimiento de ayuno y vigilia llegó al país en el 2018.
En Costa Rica se permite el aborto en casos donde la salud y la vida de la mujer están en riesgo. No es legal en casos de violación, incesto, malformaciones del feto incompatibles con la vida o razones económicas.
