Los fuertes vientos generados por la influencia del empuje frío número 9, cuyos efectos en el país se perciben desde la mañana del jueves anterior, persistirán este sábado.
De acuerdo con el Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) el tránsito del empuje frío sobre el norte del Mar Caribe, el cual se desplaza hacia el Atlántico Norte; mantiene elevados niveles en la presión atmosférica en la Cuenca del Caribe favoreciendo condiciones muy ventosas en Costa Rica.
Las ráfagas más fuertes se han registrado en el norte de Guanacaste alcanzando 97 km/h, además en el Valle Central y partes bajas del Pacífico Norte oscilan entre máximos entre 50-77 km/h y en las montañas rondan entre 70-89 km/h.
Nubosidad variable concentrada principalmente en las montañas del Caribe y Zona Norte, la cual se extiende al este del Valle Central provocando lluvias débiles, con acumulados menores a 20 mm en las últimas seis horas.
Pronóstico
Los fuertes vientos continuarán en el territorio nacional, especialmente en la parte norte y central.
Se estiman ráfagas entre los 50-75 km/h en el Valle Central y entre 60-90 km/h en las montañas; en el Pacífico Norte velocidades con rangos entre los 50-90 km/h y cercanos a 100 km/h al norte de la región.
La cobertura nubosa predominará en las montañas y alrededores de las regiones del Caribe y Zona Norte ocasionando lluvias intermitentes con montos entre 20-45 mm; la nubosidad puede extenderse al este del Valle Central y generar lloviznas recurrentes con acumulados menores a 5 mm.
Se prevé disminución de las precipitaciones conforme transcurre la tarde de este sábado.
Reducción en las temperaturas diurnas, entre 1 °C y 3 °C, especialmente en el norte y este del Área Metropolitana,
