Daniel Salas se va del país: OPS lo eligió para jefatura regional de inmunizaciones
El actual ministro de Salud finalizará sus funciones el viernes 29 de abril, para hacer la transición a su nuevo puesto en Estados Unidos.
La Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS), ente internacional especializado en salud pública de las Américas, designó al actual ministro de Salud, Daniel Salas Peraza, como nuevo Jefe de la Unidad de Inmunización Familiar Integral con sede en Washington, Estados Unidos.
“Este puesto, junto a su equipo, es responsable de liderar la estrategia integral de inmunización para las Américas; así como, en alianza con los Gobiernos miembros, evaluar el impacto de las intervenciones con el fin de fortalecer las iniciativas para la eliminación de las enfermedades prevenibles por vacunación”, informó Casa Presidencial por medio de un comunicado de prensa.
Salas iniciará labores en OPS el 16 de mayo del presente año, dejando su cargo como Ministro de Salud el próximo viernes 29 de abril, con el fin de iniciar los procesos de transición a su nueva posición en Estados Unidos de América. Ileana Vargas, actual Viceministra de Salud, ejercerá como Ministra del 30 de abril al 8 de mayo.
Salas indicó que este viernes conversó con Joselyn Chacón, la nueva Ministra de Salud designada para el periodo constitucional 2022-2026, con el fin de iniciar el próximo lunes 25 de abril las reuniones y coordinaciones que permitan hacer un traspaso de mando ordenado.
