Daniel Ortega no está invitado a traspaso de poderes de Costa Rica, señala medio de Nicaragua
Esto pese a que Chaves aseguró que no tendría inconveniente con mantener relaciones con Ortega y nombraría un embajador en Nicaragua.
El medio La Prensa de Nicaragua informó este jueves que el mandatario Daniel Ortega no está invitado al traspaso de poderes del presidente electo Rodrigo Chaves Robles a efectuarse el próximo 8 de mayo.
De acuerdo con el medio nicaraguense el director de Protocolo de Relaciones Exteriores de Costa Rica, Istvan Alfaro, confirmó que Ortega no está invitado a la ceremonia de investidura del nuevo presidente de Costa Rica.
“Tras ganar las elecciones en segunda vuelta el pasado 3 de abril, Chaves dijo en una conferencia de prensa que no tendría problemas con establecer relaciones con Nicaragua, en alusión a enviar a un embajador costarricense a este país, lo que cambiaría la política de la anterior Administración de Carlos Alvarado que retiró al embajador como señal de rechazo a la represión que vive la población nicaragüense a manos de Ortega desde el 2018. Aún así, Ortega no fue invitado a la asunción de Chaves”, indicó el medio.
Desde julio de 2018, Costa Rica, no tiene embajador en Nicaragua. El entonces embajador Eduardo Trejos abandonó el cargo poco después de que Alvarado tomara posesión y criticara duramente a la Administración de Daniel Ortega por la represión a las protestas civiles que estallaron en abril de 2018 y que provocaron un éxodo migratorio hacia territorio costarricense.
La Cancillería de la República confirmó este viernes que ningún representante de Nicaragua fue invitado, ni tampoco Nicolás Maduro, presidente venezolano no reconocido por Costa Rica.
Las autoridades costarricenses invitaron a Juan Guaido, como mandatario reconocido.
