Cuatro privados de libertad se gradúan en la carrera de Administración de Empresas
Cursaron sus estudios por medio de la Universidad Estatal a Distancia.
Esperanzados en poder cambiar el rumbo de sus vidas, cuatro privados de libertad del Complejo Occidente (CAI Jorge Arturo Montero, UAI Reinaldo Villalobos y CAI Luis Paulino Mora) recibieron su título universitario.
Ellos se recibieron en la carrera de Administración de Empresas por la Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED), luego de concluir el programa de estudios durante su estancia en prisión.
Según recoge una publicación del Ministerio de Justicia y Paz, Alfonso Gamboa y Salomón Cascante obtuvieron un diplomado en Administración de Empresas, José López recogió su bachillerato en Administración de Empresas con énfasis en Banca y Finanzas y Carlos Arroyo recibió su bachillerato en la misma área, pero con énfasis en Dirección de Empresas.
Algunos de los graduados pudieron compartir el feliz momento en compañía de sus familiares.
Durante el acto de graduación, se contó con la participación de Exleine Sánchez, viceministro de Justicia, quien indicó que la institución continúa trabajando para que la población privada de libertad siga estudiando.
“Seguimos trabajando para darle mejores herramientas a las personas privadas de libertad y que esto les permita y facilite su incorporación al mercado laboral”, manifestó Sánchez.
La UNED brinda a la población penitenciaria la oportunidad de obtener formación profesional dentro de un centro penal, a través de la Educación Superior a Distancia.
“Actualmente se está trabajando en la elaboración de una oferta específica que busca diversificar la opción de formación, se espera poder ofrecer técnicos y formación en carreras que se adapten a las nuevas necesidades y condiciones del ambiente laboral”, indicó Juan Pablo Camacho, jefe de la UNED en la Sede Reforma.
Esta sede universitaria cuenta con un espacio dentro del Centro de Atención Institucional Jorge Arturo Montero Castro, en el que se les brinda atención y colaboración a los estudiantes que se encuentran en el Complejo Occidente, con el objetivo de que puedan contar con los recursos y mejores condiciones para asumir los retos que conlleva cada asignatura dentro del plan de estudios y que con esto puedan ir alcanzando las metas propuestas.
En la actualidad hay 8073 estudiantes, que desde distintos centros penitenciarios se encuentran matriculados en educación formal, de estos, son 462 privados de libertad que están estudiando en la UNED.
