Covid-19: llega nuevo lote de 120.000 vacunas Pfizer para niños de 5 a 11 años
Casa Presidencial indicó que en total Costa Rica ha recibido 928.600 dosis pediátricas anticovid.
Casa Presidencial informó que la noche de este jueves 25 de marzo llegó a Costa Rica un nuevo lote de 120.000 dosis de la vacuna pediátrica contra la covid-19.
Esta nueva cantidad de biológicos de la casa farmacéutica Pfizer/BioNTech servirá para la campaña de inoculación a nivel nacional para menores de 5 a 11 años.
Con ellas se alcanza la suma de 928.600 vacunas recibidas para dicho grupo etario.
En 15 meses de recepción de vacunas y 86 vuelos, el país ha recibido más de 12,8 millones de dosis contra el virus SARS-CoV-2. Durante este año el país ha priorizado la recepción de dosis pediátricas para acelerar la inoculación de los niños y niñas de 5 a 11 años y así fortalecer el
curso lectivo.
En este sentido el presidente de la Comisión Nacional de Prevención de Riesgos y Atención de Emergencias (CNE), Alexander Solís, indicó: “dado que actualmente tenemos suficientes vacunas para adultos para cubrir el esquema de tercera dosis, el país ha estado priorizando en las últimas semanas el ingreso de la vacuna pediátrica de cara al ingreso de las lecciones presenciales”.
Al corte del 22 de marzo, la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) ha aplicado 417.268 dosis pediátricas, de las cuales 274.190 corresponden a primeras dosis (52,2 % del grupo etario) y 143.078 a segundas dosis (27,2 % del grupo etario).
Desde diciembre 2020 a la fecha, Costa Rica ha recibido 9.154.195 dosis por contrato de compra. De ese total 7.185.825 vacunas corresponden al biológico de Pfizer/BioNTech. Además 1.000.000 de la empresa AstraZeneca, y 968.370 del mecanismo multilateral COVAX.
Durante marzo se han recibido 1.473.330 vacunas, a la fecha, lo que lo convierte en el segundo mes con mayor recepción de vacunas en 15 meses. En lo que va del 2022 el país ha recibido 4.596.240 dosis.
Además de los biológicos por contrato de compra, 3.733.790 dosis han sido donadas por los gobiernos de España (1.572.290) Estados Unidos (1.503.900), Canadá (319.200), Francia (200.070), República Dominicana (56.800) y Austria (50.000), además de las donaciones hechas por las empresas AstraZeneca (31.400) y Pfizer/BioNTech (130).
De esta forma, Costa Rica ha recibido un total de 12.887.985 dosis, a la fecha, entre donaciones y contratos de compra.
