Costa Rica cuenta con nuevo símbolo nacional: Las mascaradas
El presidente Rodrigo Chaves firmó este viernes en Liberia, Guanacaste, la declaratoria de las mascaradas como el símbolo nacional número 19.
Las mascaradas son el símbolo nacional número 19 de Costa Rica. El presidente de la República, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, firmó este viernes en la Escuela Alba Ocampo Alvarado de Liberia, en Guanacaste, la declaratoria de las mascaradas como símbolo nacional.
“Ni en el sueño más dulce de mi vida me hubiera podido imaginar que ustedes niños y niñas me hayan recibido de esta manera, vean verdaderamente conmovedor, verdaderamente comprometedor, también me voy a llevar la mirada y la sonrisa de cada uno de ustedes en mi corazón, me los voy a llevar a todos ustedes en mi corazón como el símbolo de por qué tenemos que sacar este país adelante, deshipotecarlos, porque ustedes son el futuro, son el presente, y que más podemos pedirle a una patria que niños y niñas como ustedes, muchísimas gracias”, manifestó el presidente Chaves.
“En Costa Rica aprendimos hace casi 75 años que había que abolir el ejército y que teníamos que apostar por la educación, que el olor a pólvora contrario a otros países, no nos despierta pánico, sino que nos augura fiesta porque es el aviso de la diana que anuncia la fiesta de la madrugada”, añadió.
El mandatario agregó además: “Aprendimos también en esta provincia que las bombas van mejor acompañadas con risas y alegría y que no son materiales de destrucción, ni para matar gente, una buena bomba guanacasteca eso es lo que necesita el mundo, no las bombas que están destruyendo vidas en Europa”.
“La inversión en una educación de calidad accesible y moderna es hoy más que nunca una prioridad para el nuevo gobierno de la República y un derecho que vamos a proteger, (…) nuestra cultura, tradiciones y costumbres son únicas e irremplazables especialmente en la pampa guanacasteca y en la bajura, son un recordatorio de dónde vinimos y el camino que hemos recorrido, pero también deben marcar los pasos que damos hacia nuevos horizontes, hacia una mejor patria y sobre todo a una mejor Guanacaste”, dijo Chaves.
“Un país donde el Diablo Chingo, la Cegua, el Cadejos, la Tule Vieja son símbolo nacional ese es un país del que podemos estar orgullosos, (…), dios nos esta bendiciendo con habernos traído a una nueva era en Guanacaste, en Costa Rica, y en todos los rincones de sus hogares, que Dios los bendiga a Liberia, Guanacaste y a todo Costa Rica”, finalizó.
El pasado 21 de abril los diputados de la Comisión con Potestad Legislativa Plena Tercera aprobaron en segundo debate el expediente 22.704 para declarar a las mascaradas como símbolo nacional. La iniciativa fue presentada a la entonces diputada del Partido Integración Nacional (PIN), Patricia Villegas.
La lista de 19 la completan: el Escudo Nacional, la Bandera, la Guaria Morada, el Árbol de Guanacaste, el Yigüirro, el Himno Nacional, la Carreta, el Venado Cola Blanca, la Marimba, la Antorcha de la Independencia, los Crestones del Parque Nacional Chirripó, el Manatí, las Esferas de Piedra Indígenas Precolombinas, y el Teatro Nacional.
