Carlos Alvarado sobre manejo de la pandemia en Costa Rica: “Me llena de orgullo”
“Había que tomar decisiones y siempre se procuró hacer con la mejor información”, indicó el mandatario.
El presidente de la República, Carlos Alvarado, defendió la gestión del Gobierno en el manejo de la pandemia de la covid-19 a dos años de la llegada del primer caso al país en marzo de 2020.
El mandatario lamentó los más de 8 mil fallecimientos y el impacto económico, pero aseguró que el país enfrentó de la mejor manera la pandemia.
“Esto es una situación inédita lo que nos tocó afrontar y creo que con el dolor de las muertes que vinieron, de los impactos en el empleo y de la economía el país ha logrado salir adelante, lo ha hecho eso me llena de orgullo de nuestro país y mi balance en eso es que ante una de las peores crisis en este caso sanitarias que ha experimentado el país prácticamente los últimos 100 años la hemos enfrentado con valor y hemos salido adelante con mucho costo, costo político. Sí, lo asumo”, declaró Alvarado en una actividad realizada en la Zona Franca Coyol, en Alajuela.
El mandatario resaltó también los resultados de la campaña de vacunación, el trabajo que realizaron los centros médicos para evitar un mayor colapso, el crecimiento económico y la recuperación de empleos en los últimos meses. Alvarado reconoció que no existían antecedentes de este tipo para la toma de decisiones.
“El 6 de marzo del 2020 prácticamente no sabíamos nada, un mes después sabíamos más, seis meses era el escenario distinto todo fue un escenario cambiante las variantes fueron distintas, el entorno económico fue distinto. No había un libro de texto o un manual que dijera cómo manejar la pandemia 1.0 eso no existe, lo que había era que tomar decisiones y siempre se procuró hacer con la mejor información y la mejor manera”, finalizó.
