Andy Navarro: el joven cartaginés que estudiará Astrofísica en universidad de EE.UU.
Gracias a su perseverancia, Andy, estudiará un doble grado en Ingeniería Mecánica y Astrofísica, además llevará cursos de Emprendedurismo y Economía sostenible.
Andy Josué Navarro Brenes es un joven de 18 años, originario de Corralillo, Cartago, que logró ingresar a la prestigiosa universidad privada Tufts, en Massachusetts, EE.UU.
Según informó el portal de noticias Comunicaciones Cartago, Navarro, cursará un doble grado en Ingeniería Mecánica y Astrofísica, además estudiará programas de Emprendedurismo y Economía Sostenible por los próximos 4 años.
En 2020 el Colegio Científico de Costa Rica sede Cartago, informó en sus redes sociales que su destacado alumno Andy recibió una beca para estudiar en el Centro Espacial de la NASA en Huntsville, Alabama, donde empezó a involucrarse en el campo de la Ingeniería Aeroespacial.
Tras graduarse como bachiller, el joven cartaginés, recibió admisiones de distintas universidades prestigiosas del país norteamericano. Al final se decidió por Tufts University.
De acuerdo con Comunicaciones Cartago, en este último año el talentoso joven se ha dedicado a ser investigador asociado al SGAC (Consejo Asesor de la Generación Espacial) con sede en Austria, donde ha sido co-autor de los siguientes artículos: Propulsión eléctrica en una misión satelital a Júpiter y La teleobservación de los océanos en la Tierra.
Además, Navarro es uno de los co-fundadores de la Red Aeroespacial Centroamericana.
También ha recibido capacitaciones en la NASA sobre teleobservación y estudios del clima.
Andy cursó la primaria en la Escuela Bilingüe Antoniana, luego comenzó sus estudios de secundaria en el Liceo Experimental Bilingüe José Figueres Ferrer.
Obtuvo su Bachillerto en Educación Media en el Colegio Científico de Costa Rica con sede en Cartago.
