(Video) Prensa internacional destaca gesto de Rodrigo Chaves en traspaso de poderes en Colombia
El mandatario de la República permaneció sentado al paso de la espada de Simón Bolívar durante la investidura de Gustavo Petro.
El presidente de Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, se convirtió en noticia en diversos medios internacionales por un gesto que realizó durante la investidura, el domingo anterior, del nuevo presidente colombiano, Gustavo Petro.
Chaves, fue uno de los jefes de Estado que permaneció sentado al paso de la espada de Simón Bolívar durante la actividad.
Según videos de ese momento, cuando la espada del héroe independentista latinoamericano era llevada en una urna de vidrio hasta la plaza que lleva su nombre, donde tenía lugar el acto de investidura del izquierdista Petro, Rodrigo Chaves se mantuvo sentado, mientras otros dignatarios se levantaban y aplaudían.
La espada del libertador representa la soberanía de Latinoamérica y es un símbolo de independencia de Colombia.
Pero el presidente Chaves no fue el único que realizó este gesto, también el rey de España, Felipe VI y el mandatario de Argentina, Alberto Fernández.
“El presidente y jefe de Estado de Costa Rica se encontraba sentado detrás del presidente chileno, Gabriel Boric, y su esposa Irina Karamanos, que al levantarse ocultan parcialmente a Chaves. Junto a él, con corbata mostaza, Félix Ulloa, vicepresidente de El Salvador, que puede verse en ambas imágenes y que sí se levantó”, dice parte de una nota publicada por el medio Newtral.
En España, el partido Podemos, catalogó el accionar del rey Felipe como una falta de respeto grave y le exigió ofrecer disculpas de parte del país europeo.
Mientras que en Costa Rica, Casa Presidencial no se ha manifestado al respecto.
