Un jugador iraní, condenado a muerte por defender a las mujeres
Amir Nasr-Azadani ha sido sentenciado para promover campañas a favor de los derechos de las mujeres y de las libertades básicas
Amir Nasr-Azadani, futbolista iraní que no ha participado en el Mundial de Qatar, ha sido condenado a muerte por una traición a su patria, Irán. El motivo por el que ha sido sentenciado es que el jugador ha participado en varias protestas en contra del gobierno de su país, un hecho que lo ha puesto en el punto de mira del régimen iraní hasta llegar al extremo. Nasr-Azadani ha recibido su sentencia después de haber promovido una campaña a favor de los derechos de las mujeres y de las libertades básicas.
La FIFPRO se ha mostrado en contra de la decisión tomada por el gobierno iraní
La Federación Internacional de Futbolistas Profesionales (FIFPRO), una organización que vela por los derechos de los jugadores profesionales de fútbol, ha sido la responsable de dar la noticia junto con un mensaje donde se muestra una clara desaprobación por la decisión tomada por el gobierno de Irán:
«La FIFPRO está conmocionada y entristecida por la noticia de que el futbolista profesional Amir Nasr-Azadani se tenga que enfrentar a la ejecución en Irán después de hacer campaña por los derechos de las mujeres y las libertades fundamentales en su país. Nos solidarizamos con Amir y pedimos que se anule inmediatamente su castigo», ha dicho la organización en su comunicado.

El Mundial de Qatar ha ayudado a dar voz en el pueblo iraní
Por otro lado, hay que recordar que el Mundial de Qatar ha servido para dar voz a un pueblo que, tal como dijo el capitán de la selección, Ehsan Hajsafi, «no es feliz». Un país que ha amenazado a sus jugadores diciendo que si se volvían a negar a cantar el himno de su patria, tal como hicieron en su primer duelo contra la selección de Inglaterra, encarcelarían y torturarían a sus familias. Es más, durante todos los partidos de Irán, las gradas de Doha se han llenado de mensajes de los seguidores iraníes que, entre lágrimas, pedían ayuda para su pueblo.
