Un hipopótamo murió atropellado en una carretera de Colombia
El accidente ocurrió en la autopista Bogotá-Medellín, en una zona invadida de hipopótamos provenientes de una hacienda que perteneció al narcotraficante Pablo Escobar.
Un hipopótamo murió atropellado la noche del martes en la autopista Bogotá-Medellín de Colombia, donde este insólito legado del narcotraficante Pablo Escobar, es considerado especie invasora, informó el cuerpo de bomberos.
El animal de más de una tonelada quedó tendido en la ruta, en una zona cercana a una hacienda que fue de Escobar, muerto en diciembre de 1993 durante un tiroteo con la policía, indicó a la AFP la comandante de los bomberos del municipio de Puerto Triunfo (noroeste), María Magdalena Pérez.
En esa hacienda, a finales de los años ochenta, Escobar instaló una pequeña manada de hipopótamos.
El frontal de la camioneta involucrada en el choque quedó destruido. «Solo iba un muchacho, está ileso», precisó Pérez.
Los bomberos atendieron otro accidente automovilístico provocado por uno de estos mamíferos originarios de África en diciembre. Ese hipopótamo sobrevivió y escapó de la zona.
