Durante la presentación del iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro y iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple confirmó un rumor que venía circulando desde hace varios meses: sus nuevos teléfonos inteligentes iban a venir con un puerto USB-C en lugar del clásico conector Lightning. Esto para acatar una norma impuesta por la Unión Europea (UE), es decir, si no lo hacían, no podrían vender sus equipos en el ‘viejo continente’.
Con la llegada del puerto USB-C a los teléfonos de Apple, todo parecía indicar que el cable Lightning iba a pasar a mejor vida; sin embargo, la empresa fundada por Steve Jobs no quiere olvidarse de su tecnología (lanzada en 2012 para el iPhone 5), ya que acaba de poner en venta un costoso adaptador para que puedas seguir usando este cable para cargar los nuevos iPhone 15 y las versiones que salgan a futuro.
En su página web oficial, los de Cupertino aseguran que «el adaptador USB-C a Lightning permite conectar accesorios Lightning a un iPhone o iPad con USB-C para brindar tres funciones clave (carga, datos y audio) con un solo adaptador». De acuerdo a la publicación, este costoso accesorio tiene un cable trenzado que le permite tener una mayor durabilidad.
