Niño de 3 años se tragó 2 agujas mientras jugaba: una se rompió y la otra sigue en su intestino

Un niño de apenas 3 años de edad fue internado de emergencia en un hospital de Bolivia luego de que accidentalmente se tragara dos agujas mientras jugaba con diferentes objetos en su casa. Una de estas se rompió en dos, pero fueron extraídas a través de una endoscopía. Sin embargo, la otra continúa en el cuerpo del pequeño.
“El objeto está en un lugar no accesible por medio endoscópico, estamos esperando que el niño expulse el objeto o su cuerpo lo acerque a un lugar accesible para el endoscopio”, indicó Raúl Copana, director del Hospital del Niño en Cochabamba.
El menor de edad está en observación hasta que se verifique que está fuera de peligro porque, al tragarse un objeto punzante, tiene riesgo de que la aguja le perfore algún órgano y en este caso se debe proceder a una cirugía.
Según los médicos, la aguja está alojada en sus intestinos. Afortunadamente, no se produjeron daños en los órganos internos en el trayecto del sistema digestivo. “No tenemos datos de lesiones por las agujas. Solamente que, al ser un objeto punzante, tenemos que observar al paciente internado hasta que sea eliminado. Está en la porción final del intestino”, añadió.
Se presume que habría sido en un momento de descuido de la familia. “Son accidentes, traumatismos no provocados. Ningún papá le da objetos a un niño para que los ingiera. Ocurren por no tener cuidado con estos materiales y dejarlos al alcance de los niños. Ellos por naturaleza van a llevar a la boca todo lo que puedan”, sostuvo Copana.
Asimismo, resaltó que en estos casos hay riesgo de complicaciones, pero que muchas veces los objetos son expulsados de forma natural. “Pedimos a los padres que tengan mucho cuidado con los niños, hace falta un segundo para que los niños ingieran objetos y esto puede tener consecuencias en su salud”, finalizó.
