Mujer china que secuestró y vendió a 11 niños es sentenciada a pena de muerte
Su macabro negocio en China empezó con la venta de un bebé que tuvo en una relación extramarital. A partir de ahí, se alió con el padre de esa criatura y juntos iniciaron la carrera criminal durante la década de los 90.
Un tribunal de la provincia china de Guizhou (centro) condenó a muerte a una mujer que secuestró y vendió a once niños entre 1993 y 1996, según el veredicto publicado hoy por la Corte Intermedia de Guiyang en su cuenta oficial de WeChat.
La mujer, Yu Huaying, que piensa recurrir el fallo, fue sentenciada a la pena capital después de que el tribunal considerase que su delito causó un daño social «extremadamente significante» y que las circunstancias en las que lo cometió fueron «particularmente graves».
Yu, de acuerdo a la sentencia, secuestraba a menores en el suroeste de China y los vendía en la ciudad de Handan (provincia de Hebei, norte).
Según la emisora Beijing News, Yu, que tiene ahora 60 años, vendió en 1992 a un hijo nacido de una relación extramarital con Gong, con quien posteriormente se dedicó a secuestrar y vender menores en su mayoría procedentes de familias con pocos recursos.
La detención de la mujer fue posible gracias a que una de sus víctimas logró localizar a su hermana biológica y proporcionar a la Policía información sobre la secuestradora.
Entre 2010 y 2019, el número de casos de tráfico de mujeres y menores ascendió a 112.703, según datos de la Oficina de Estadísticas del país asiático.
Las autoridades chinas no facilitan datos oficiales sobre el número de condenados a muerte, pero en su informe anual de 2022, la organización de defensa de los derechos humanos Amnistía Internacional apuntó que «se cree que se llevaron a cabo miles de ejecuciones» en ese país
