Mujer agradece con 800 tamales al personal sanitario que la salvó del coronavirus en EE.UU.
A sus 73 años, Margarita Montanez entregó la comida en señal de agradecimiento a los médicos y enfermeras del hospital Cedars-Sinai de California
Margarita Montanez, una mujer de 73 años que sobrevivió al nuevo coronavirus en California (Estados Unidos), tuvo una gran muestra de agradecimiento con el personal sanitario que la atendió durante el mes de abril.
Según informaron la cadena “Telemundo” y el diario “La Opinión” de Los Ángeles, la abuela entregó 800 tamales al personal médico del hospital Cedars-Sinai en la zona de Beverly Hills.
En el centro, la mujer permaneció internada 20 días conectada a un respirador artificial en la unidad de cuidados intensivos.
“Ya estaba en un punto para que me desconectaran”, declaró Margarita al medio “Telemundo”. “Uno tiene la salud y no hay precio”, agregó la ciudadana hispana.
Margarita preparó 500 tamales en su hogar en el Valle de San Fernando en cinco días. Sin embargo, un día antes de llevar el presente al centro médico, se enteró que los empleados eran 400. Por tal motivo, decidió comprar 300 adicionales.
“Los mejores tamales del mundo para los mejores doctores y enfermeras que tenemos aquí en Los Ángeles”, declaró totalmente agradecida su hija Cindy Montanez.
El estado de California tiene contabilizados hasta la fecha 1,804.417 casos del nuevo coronavirus y 22.441 fallecidos, según informa el medio “The New York Times”.
La cifra de fallecidos en Estados Unidos asciende a 313.660 con 17,465.147 contagios de COVID-19. Las autoridades consideran que 6,298.082 personas sanaron.
