Mueren 10 montañistas tras avalancha en cordillera de Alborz, en Irán
Al menos 100 personas se encontraban en la región cuando comenzó una tormenta de nieve que precedió al alud.
Autoridades iraníes reportaron la muerte de 10 montañistas tras una avalancha registrada el pasado jueves.
Los hechos ocurrieron en la cordillera de Alborz, que rodea el norte de la capital de Irán, Teherán, de acuerdo a medios locales.
Los primeros reportes señalaron que al menos 100 personas se encontraban en la región cuando comenzó una tormenta de nieve que precedió al alúd.
“Los servicios de emergencia han rescatado a 80 escaladores, encontrando nueve cuerpos en la montaña y una décima persona falleció en el hospital”, de acuerdo con la cadena estatal IRIB.
La Media Luna Roja Iraní, el equivalente a la Cruz Roja, reportó que al menos diez personas continúan desaparecidas, por lo que las labores de búsqueda y rescate en la región continúan.
Reportes señalan que entre las víctimas fatales se encuentra Mostafab Fatemi, exdirector de la agencia informativa ISNA, uno de los medios oficiales del estado iraní.
