Miss Venezuela no murió, sino la modelo Ariana Viera
Ariana Viera, conocida modelo venezolana, falleció el último 13 de julio en un accidente automovilístico en Estados Unidos.
Recientemente, su madre, Vivian Ochoa, concedió una entrevista al medio Telemundo Orlando, en la que contó que estaban solicitando una visa para que el papá —que vive en Perú— viaje a la cremación. Sus declaraciones sobre el accidente de Ariana se hicieron virales y, con ellas, también la desinformación.
Muchos medios de comunicación han presentado a Ariana como la actual Miss Venezuela, un hecho falso que ha confundido y preocupado a las personas sobre la salud de las actuales candidatas del país que postulan a otros certámenes.
Ariana Viera no era miss Venezuela ni Miss Venezuela Mundo
La noticia sobre la muerte de Ariana Viera se ha difundido asegurando que la modelo es actualmente Miss Venezuela.
En el país caribeño, la organización del mismo nombre es la que se encarga, por medio de certámenes, de elegir a las mujeres que representarán al país ante el Miss Universo, el Miss Mundo y el Miss Internacional.
Asimismo, la denominación ‘Miss Venezuela’ es usada en esta región para hablar de la candidata al Miss Universo y ganadora del certamen del mismo nombre. Así nos lo corroboraron María José Vargas, periodista venezolana en La República, y Karla Torres, fact-checker de Cotejo, iniciativa del medio venezolano Medianálisis.
Este es el concurso más prestigioso en el país, que a la fecha ha tenido 7 reinas venezolanas.
Hicimos una búsqueda con el nombre de la modelo en las plataformas principales de la organización (página web, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter). No hallamos registro alguno de Ariana.
Las actuales reinas son Diana Silva, candidata al Miss Universo y a la que suelen referirse como ‘Miss Venezuela’; Ariagny Daboin, representante al Miss Mundo; y Andrea Rubio, que aspira al Miss Internacional.
Muchos medios de comunicación reportan que Ariana había sido seleccionada para representar a su país ante el Miss América Latina del Mundo.
Sin embargo, no hallamos registro alguno que la relacione con el certamen. Ni en las plataformas del concurso internacional ni en las de Miss Océano Venezuela, organización encargada de elegir a la representante venezolana.
En conversación con Verificador, Miss Océano Venezuela, descartó haber tenido relación alguna con Ariana. Además, señalaron que la representante oficial de Venezuela para el Miss América Latina del Mundo, programado para este 12 de octubre, es Lauren Barazarte.
