¡Mark Zuckerberg lo celebra! Threads supera los 10 millones de usuarios en solo 7 horas
Es la sensación del momento. Nueva app de Mark Zuckerberg logra sumar millones de usuarios en pocas horas y hace temblar a Twitter de Elon Musk.
No esperó hasta el 6 de julio. Aunque en las primeras horas del último miércoles Threads ya estaba disponible en Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido, los usuarios de Meta esperaban que Mark Zuckerberg se tomara su tiempo antes de lanzarla a nivel mundial. Sin embargo, optó por aprovechar la gran expectativa por su plataforma y, horas más tarde, anunció que los internautas de todo el planeta, a excepción de la Unión Europea, ya podían descargar Threads tanto en Android como en los iPhone.
Para alegría de Mark Zuckerberg y la preocupación de Elon Musk, Threads superó la barrera de los 10 millones de usuarios en solo siete horas después de su lanzamiento mundial. La noticia fue comunicada por el propio CEO de Meta a través de su cuenta oficial en la nueva red social.
En este sentido, las matemáticas rápidas revelan que cada segundo se registran entre 250 y 350 personas de más de 100 países. El número probablemente habría sido mayor si Threads se hubiera lanzado en la Unión Europea, pero los reguladores confirmaron este 5 de julio que Meta todavía está trabajando para que el nuevo servicio cumpla con el RGPD (Reglamento General de Protección de Datos), por los que los cibernautas de la UE tendrán que esperar un poco antes de registrarse en plataforma.
Asimismo, Mark Zuckerberg afirmó que Threads no solo pretende ser una alternativa al Twitter de Elon Musk, sino que pronto será compatible con el protocolo abierto ActivityPub, lo que significa que será interoperable con Mastodon y WordPress, lo que permitirá nuevos tipos de conexión entre personas que no son posibles en las actuales y populares aplicaciones de redes sociales.
