Una bebé recién nacida fue dejada en la “cuna de por vida” de la Cruz Roja de Bérgamo, Italia, con una emotiva carta escrita por su madre. El buzón es un dispositivo creado para que las madres que no desean o no pueden hacerse cargo de sus bebés los depositen allí, en lugar de abandonarlos en la calle o en contenedores, garantizando así la seguridad del recién nacido.

La “cuna de la vida” es un dispositivo acolchado con calefacción y un botiquín, que se activa al abrir la ventana y cuenta con un sistema de alarma y cámaras. Su objetivo es garantizar la confidencialidad de la madre o quien deposite al bebé y evitar que ocurran tragedias similares en el futuro. El presidente del comité de Cruz Roja, Maurizio Bonomi, conmovido por la situación, destacó la emoción y el amor presente en la carta que leyó en voz alta.
