Kinders de Nueva York vuelven a iniciar las clases presenciales
Nueva York, la ciudad más golpeada por el coronavirus, reanuda sus clases solo para los niños de educación inicial y algunos colegios especiales.
Luego que las escuelas de los diferentes niveles en Nueva York, Estados Unidos, cerraran desde el 23 de marzo a causa del incremento de casos por coronavirus, este lunes 21 de setiembre vuelven a reanudarse.
El pasado jueves las autoridades de la Gran Manzana anunciaron que suspenderían, una vez más, el regreso a las aulas de casi todos los alumnos de primaria y secundaria. Sin embargo, los más pequeños y los alumnos de educación especial sí volvieron a las clases presenciales.
De acuerdo a la información compartida por la agencia EFE, la ciudad de Nueva York, que fue uno de los epicentros de la pandemia, no iniciará las clases en modo presencial el lunes como estaba previsto. El regreso será escalonado a las aulas, con los alumnos de primaria regresando el 29 de setiembre y el resto, hasta secundaria, de vuelta a partir del 1 de octubre.
Es aquí que, pese a que el inicio oficial de clases presenciales estaba previsto en Nueva York el 10 de setiembre, solo los alumnos de guardería (3 a 4 años) y de educación especial regresarán a las aulas la semana que viene.
Los maestros aseguran que las condiciones no están dadas pare retomar las clases presenciales, ya que las condiciones no serían las adecuadas. Dicha situación ha sido apoyada por los padres.
Ante ello, el alcalde de Nueva York, Bill de Blasio, ha prometido la contratación de 2.000 maestros más, pero los responsables escolares consideran el número insuficiente, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta el aumento de jubilaciones entre aquellos que no quieren exponerse a contraer la enfermedad.
En este regreso a clases, el gobernador Andrew Cuomo informó que en el estado de Nueva York, el domingo 20 de setiembre, solo una persona falleció a causa de la COVID-19, la cifra más baja desde que se desató la pandemia el pasado marzo.
