Toda Irlanda será reconfinada a partir de la medianoche del miércoles para enfrentar la pandemia de Covid-19, convirtiéndose en el primer país de la Unión Europea en tomar esa medida, anunció el lunes su Primer ministro Micheal Martin.
Le reconfinamiento entrará en vigor el miércoles a medianoche (23H00 GMT) por seis semanas, precisó, pero subrayó que las escuelas seguirán abiertas.
Todos los comercios no esenciales deben cerrar, los bares y los restaurantes solo podrán vender comida para llevar, precisó el jefe de gobierno.
“Pedimos a todos en el país quedarse en casa”, agregó Martin.
Solo las personas con un empleo necesario tendrán “autorización para desplazarse al trabajo”, añadió.
