Hombre asesinó a su mejor amigo el día de su cumpleaños por temor a ser abusado
El hombre confesó que después de consumir algo de drogas en la fiesta de cumpleaños empezó a sentirse mal y su amigo lo arrastró al dormitorio en contra de su voluntad. En un intento por recuperar el control, el sujeto estranguló al festejado.
James Johnson, de 29 años, es acusado de haber estrangulado a su mejor amigo luego de su celebración de cumpleaños número 40, que tuvo lugar en un apartamento ubicado en la ciudad de Salford, Gran Manchester, Reino Unido . Según el hombre, aunque su intención no era asesinar a David Toulson, lo hizo en defensa propia porque pensó que sería abusado sexualmente.
Los hechos se presentaron el pasado 25 de junio de 2022, cuando el hoy procesado celebraba el cumpleaños de su mejor amigo junto a otros compañeros. En medio del evento, los asistentes comenzaron a consumir cocaína, aunque Johnson había expresado previamente su aversión a las drogas, y de repente se vio obligado a aspirar un poco del polvo blanco.
De acuerdo con su testimonio, después de consumir esta sustancia Johnson comenzó a sentir debilidad en las extremidades y luego se desmayó. Al despertar, se dio cuenta de que estaba siendo arrastrado por su amigo hacia el dormitorio y le pidió que lo dejara quieto, pero sus súplicas fueron ignoradas y nuevamente perdió la conciencia.
Cuando abrió los ojos ya se encontraba en la habitación, acostado encima de Toulson: «Su pecho estaba en el suelo, mi pecho estaba en su espalda. Mi brazo derecho estaba debajo de él y mi brazo izquierdo estaba extendido. Fue entonces cuando volví en mí”, afirmó.
Según el acusado, no recuerda exactamente cuánto tiempo estuvo sobre su amigo, pero luego de que quedara inmóvil volvió a desmayarse. Al despertar vio que Toulson no estaba respirando y se comunicó inmediatamente con la línea de emergencias.
Finalmente, Johnson aseguró que todo lo que hizo fue en defensa propia y no aceptó los cargos de homicidio: «Si no me hubiera defendido, creo que me habrían violado», reiteró. De momento, el juicio en su contra continúa.
