Escasez de alimentos obliga a los maestros a cosechar sus raciones de papas en Corea del Norte
Las fuertes lluvias han provocado pérdida de cosechas en el país asiático. Este escenario obligó a los maestros a incursionar en la agricultura para conseguir su propio alimento.
Los ciudadanos de Corea del Norte afrontan un difícil momento por la falta de alimentos. Siete meses después del cierre de la frontera con China, sumado a las estrictas medidas de la cuarentena, provocó que la situación empeore.
La escasez de productos alimenticios en el país ubicado en Asia Oriental ha forzado a los maestros a cosechar personalmente las raciones de papas que les fueron asignadas por el régimen de Kim Jong-un, informa Infobae.
“Los maestros que deberían estar en la escuela están en los campos de papa”, dijo este martes una fuente de la provincia de Yanggang al diario Daily NK. “Esto se debe a que ellos mismos deben cosechar las raciones y llevarlas por su cuenta”.
Las papas suelen ser entregadas a las cooperativas y luego a los profesores. Sin embargo, este año solo se entregó una guía de suministro con la cantidad asignada, por lo que los docentes tuvieron que dirigirse a los campos para cavar y transportar los tubérculos ellos mismos.
Aparte de la incertidumbre generada por la crisis sanitaria, se espera que este año la cosecha sea escasa debido a las fuertes lluvias que eliminaron tierras de cultivo y dieron otro golpe a una economía.
La región del norte del país asiático, donde se realiza la mayoría de los cultivos, fue la más afectada por las inundaciones y los tifones de agosto. Por ello, se considera que los frutos de los sembríos disminuirán a un tercio en comparación con el año anterior.
“Hay versiones de que una granja de papa que produjo 15 toneladas de cultivos el año pasado sólo producirá 10 toneladas este año”, dijo una fuente a Daily NK.
Economía clave
La producción agrícola es esencial para la economía de Corea del Norte, teniendo en cuenta las sanciones y restricciones al mercado internacional impuestas al régimen como consecuencia de sus continuas pruebas de misiles nucleares y balísticos.
Asimismo, el Programa Mundial de Alimentos de las Naciones Unidas (PMA), que tiene operaciones en el país que gobierna Kim Jong-un, ha dicho que cerca de 40% de la población está desnutrida, y agregó que “la inseguridad alimentaria y la desnutrición están muy extendidas”, agrega el medio antes citado.
