Encontró un billete de lotería millonario en el fondo del bolso de su esposa

Parece que la vida le dio un doble premio a Terry Peace, después de que, al pensar que había perdido la oportunidad de ser millonario, encontró el boleto de lotería ganador al fondo del bolso de su esposa.
Terry, de 65 años, trabajaba como renovador de casas en Waynesville, un pequeño pueblo en Carolina del Norte, Estados Unidos y a principios de 2023 decidió comprar unos boletos de $2 dólares de la lotería en un mercado local.
Comentó a la NC Education Lottery que el día del sorteo su esposa miró los boletos y notó que no le habían apuntado al ganador, sin embargo, al revisar bien al fondo de su bolso, encontró un tiquete olvidado, que se había desprendido de los demás.
Al verificar el billete perdido, notaron que los números en este coincidían con los números de las cinco bolas blancas del sorteo, haciéndolos acreedores de un premio de un millón de dólares.
“Esto cambia la vida”, expresó el nuevo millonario, admitiendo que “siempre le decía a la gente: ‘Sé que tengo la suerte de ganar’”.
La entidad que opera esta lotería comentó que «las probabilidades de acertar las cinco bolas blancas son de 1 en 11,6 millones», por lo cual el hombre tuvo un doble golpe de suerte al ganar el premio y encontrar el boleto perdido.

El afortunado ganador recibió, después de las retenciones de impuestos federales y estatales requeridas, $712,501.
“Simplemente no podemos expresar con palabras lo felices y lo agradecidos que estamos”, dijo Peace, expresando que el dinero les permitirá ayudar a tener una jubilación anticipada, ahorrar algo para sus nietos y comprar una camioneta Ford F-150.
