El dramático caso de Henrik: ¿cómo la mordedura de su gato le quitó la vida tras 4 años?
Henrik Kriegbaum Plettner, amante de los gatos, jamás imaginó que la mordida de uno de sus mininos le iba a ocasionar la muerte. El hecho causó gran consternación en el mundo.
Los amantes de los animales muchas veces no se limitan con tal de darles una alta calidad de vida a sus mascotas y a los que adoptan de ambientes hostiles, como los basureros o calles. Este es el caso de Henrik Kriegbaum Plettner, quien decidió acoger en el 2018 a una gata y sus pequeños retoños recién salidos de un refugio. Lo que menos pasó por su mente fue que una pequeña mordida iba a desencadenar una verdadera tragedia. Su familia y sus allegados se mostraron conmovidos por lo que le pasó. Te contamos su historia.
Henrik y la mordedura fatal de su gato
Aunque es conocida la conducta de los felinos, a quienes se les da por morder o arañar, la historia de Henrik muestra cómo un pequeño descuido podría desencadenar una tragedia.
El lamentable caso del danés Henrik inició cuando este movió a uno de los pequeños felinos, hijos de la gata adulta que había adoptado. Un minino reaccionó ante esta acción con una mordida en el dedo índice de su amo al que él decidió no darle importancia.
Con el paso del tiempo, Henrik notó que su brazo se hinchaba, por lo que asistió al Hospital Kolding de Dinamarca. Allí fue internado inicialmente durante un mes. En ese tiempo fue sometido a 15 cirugías.
El tratamiento que le dieron no fue de gran ayuda para que su dedo sanara: todo lo contrario, su estado de salud estaba en declive. Por ello, tuvieron que amputarle el dedo afectado.
La principal causa para que no se recupere Henrik era que el gato había dado la mordida en un vaso sanguíneo y que además, mediante este conducto, le había transmitido un organismo mortal. Nada más y nada menos que la pasteurella multocida, la llamada bacteria ‘come carne’.
Aunque esta bacteria suele estar en un 70% o 90% de gatos, las mordeduras que le hacen a sus cuidadores no implican mayores riesgos. Sin embargo, el caso de Henrik se dio por la rápida propagación de la bacteria y a su sistema inmunológico debilitado por la diabetes. Estuvo durante cuatro años con gran deterioro de su salud hasta que finalmente murió en diciembre del 2022.
