Brasil prohíbe ferias con aves para evitar la gripe aviar
El gigante sudamericano, líder mundial del comercio de carne de pollo, no registra por ahora casos y aplica la medida con carácter preventivo por 90 días ante la presencia de la enfermedad en países vecinos.
Brasil, el mayor productor y exportador mundial de carne de pollo, prohibió el viernes (31.03.2023) la realización de ferias, exposiciones, torneos y otros eventos con aglomeración de aves, en una medida destinada a evitar el posible ingreso al país y la diseminación de la llamada gripe aviar.
La medida de carácter preventivo, aplicable en todo el país inicialmente por 90 días, fue adoptada por el Ministerio de Agricultura y Pecuaria ante el registro de nuevos casos de la enfermedad en países de la región, como Argentina, Uruguay, Perú, Ecuador, Venezuela y Colombia, algunos de los cuales ya declararon emergencia sanitaria y sacrificaron a miles de aves.

La medida también suspende la cría de aves al aire libre o en corrales sin telas en la parte superior en los establecimientos comerciales registrados.
Según el decreto, las restricciones se aplican a «cualquier especie de ave de producción en cautiverio y a las demás aves criadas para otras finalidades».
Brasil, líder mundial en las exportaciones de carne de pollo, con una participación del 35 % del mercado, hasta ahora no ha registrado casos de la Influenza Aviar H5 de alta patogenicidad en el país, pero viene adoptando medidas preventivas desde comienzos del año.
