Batalla campal en un partido en Indonesia deja al menos 127 muertos
Según indican los reportes preliminares, un enfrentamiento entre dos aficiones, así como disturbios con policías, en el Estadio Kanjuruhanm en Malang Regency, provocó el fallecimiento de 127 personas.
Al menos 125 aficionados y dos policías murieron, en su mayoría pisoteados, a raíz de una serie de enfrentamientos entre seguidores de dos clubes indonesios de fútbol en la provincia de Java Oriental, informaron el domingo las autoridades.
Varias trifulcas entre los hinchas de los dos equipos rivales se reportaron dentro del estadio, después del partido de la Liga Premier de Indonesia, que terminó con la victoria de Persebaya Surabaya, por 3-2 sobre el Arema Malang.
La batalla campal derivó en que la policía antimotines lanzara gases lacrimógenos, lo que causó pánico entre el público, dijo Nico Afinta, jefe policial de Java Oriental.
Cientos de personas corrieron a una puerta de salida, en un intento por escapar de los gases. Algunas personas sufrieron asfixia en medio del caos y otras fueron aplastadas.
Unas 34 personas murieron prácticamente al instante. Más de 300 fueron llevadas a los hospitales cercanos para tratar sus lesiones, pero muchas murieron en el camino y mientras recibían atención, informó Afinta.
