A esta mujer le amputaron las cuatro extremidades luego de comer pescado crudo
Los médicos que la atendieron aseguraron que la señora de 40 años contrajo una infección bacteriana que la dejó varios días en coma y que casi le arrebata la vida.
Laura Barajas, una mujer de 40 años oriunda de Estados Unidos, estuvo a punto de morir luego de consumir pescado crudo. Según los médicos, ella se contagió de una bacteria mortal y esto ocasionó que le amputaran las cuatro extremidades.
Se conoció que la mujer acudió a un mercado local para comprar pescado y comer con su familia. Ella misma realizó la preparación de los alimentos como tradicionalmente lo hace.
En ese momento empezó una lucha por su vida, pues fue conectada a un respirador artificial. Días después, los dedos de sus manos y pies empezaron a ponerse negros. La sepsis fue tal que ocasionó un daño total en los riñones.
Los médicos solo tuvieron una opción para salvarle la vida: amputarle los brazos y las piernas. Los galenos presumen que la infección fue causada por vibrio vulnificus, una bacteria agresiva.
Según los especialistas, al año en Estados Unidos se registran entre 150 y 200 de estos casos. Además, 1 de cada 5 infectados mueren. Las autoridades piden a las personas ser precavidas para no contraer este tipo de bacterias.
Piden acciones tales como no acudir a una piscina si tiene una herida o cuidarse mucho a la hora de consumir alimentos, ya sea preparándolos de manera higiénica y correcta o consumiéndolos solo en restaurantes de confianza.
