Pese a nueva cepa en Reino Unido, viajes de Londres a Costa Rica se mantienen
Fuentes en Reino Unido afirman que la nueva variante del virus es 70 por ciento más contagiosa que las cepas previas.
Luego de que algunos países como Holanda, Bélgica y Austria vetaran los vuelos desde Reino Unido ante una nueva cepa más contagiosa de coronavirus, los viajes desde el país insular hacia Costa Rica se mantienen sin cambios.
Así lo confirmó hoy el Ministro de Salud, Daniel Salas, quien mencionó que en este momento no tiene sentido eliminar los vuelos o aplicar algún tipo de restricción de personas provenientes de Reino Unido.
“No tiene sentido cerrarle el ingreso a personas del Reino Unido cuando ese virus mutado ya está en otros países y ellos no lo saben”, afirmó Salas.
Ante el anuncio de autoridades de Reino Unido sobre una nueva cepa más contagiosa de coronavirus al sur de Inglaterra, Holanda canceló los vuelos de llegada hasta el cierre de año; Bélgica vetó los vuelos llegados desde gran Bretaña así como conecciones ferroviarias durante 24 horas; mientras Austria prohibió el aterrizaje de vuelos procedentes de Reino Unido.
Fuentes locales afirman que la nueva variante del virus es 70 por ciento más contagiosa que las cepas previas. Países como Alemania e Italia ya trabajan sobre las medidas que tomarán para contener dichos contagios.
