La pugilista fue galardonada como la mejor boxeadora del mundo durante el 2021.
La Federación Internacional de Boxeo (FIB) galardonó el viernes anterior a la pugilista costarricense Yokasta Valle como la mejor boxeadora del mundo durante el año 2021.
“No sé ni que decir, tengo la piel de gallina, solo puedo decir que todo el esfuerzo ha valido la pena y esto va para Costa Rica, esto también es de mi gente”, dijo la campeona mundial de las 105 libras en la ceremonia que se llevó a cabo en el hotel Westin de Long Beach, California.
“Muchas gracias por este reconocimiento, al fin no es solo mío, es para Costa Rica”, agregó.
Valle fue la más premiada de la noche ya que además de recibir el trofeo como mejor boxeadora del año obtuvo un anillo por triunfar en las tres defensas al título de manera consecutiva.
La boxeadora costarricense se encuentra entrenando en Estados Unidos con miras a la pelea de unificación de títulos, pactada para el próximo 24 de junio en California, contra la vietnamita Thi Thu Nhi Nguyen, campeona de la Organización Mundial de Boxeo (OMB).
Valle tiene un récord de 23 triunfos (8 por K.O.) y 2 derrotas, no cae desde junio de 2018 y acumula 10 victorias de forma consecutiva.
