“Tengo mi grado de culpa, pero no toda la culpa es mía”, Centeno acerca del descenso de Guadalupe
El Paté habló acerca del descenso de su exequipo, Guadalupe.
El equipo de Guadalupe FC, este torneo se despidió de la primera división del fútbol nacional, y una de las personas a quien se le ha responsabilizado dicho descenso es al ahora gerente deportivo del Puntarenas FC, Wálter el “Paté” Centeno.
Esto debido a que el Paté hasta el mes de febrero de este año, era el entrenador del equipo guadalupano, y tras una serie de malos resultados fue movido de su puesto, el cual posteriormente fue tomado por el mexicano Fernando Palomeque.
Con respecto al descenso de Guadalupe, este domingo 7 de mayo, Centeno conversó con Deportivas Columbia, esto tras el juego entre Puntarenas y Heredia, donde expresó su posición cuando le preguntaron acerca de que en la prensa lo responsabilizan por lo que sucedió con el cuadro guadalupano.
Centeno, quien siempre se caracteriza por ser directo, aseguró que no solo fue su culpa el hecho de que Guadalupe descendiera a la segunda división, ya que asegura que hay más factores de por medio.
“Me da pena, formé parte de esa institución y siento un gran aprecio. Ellos (dirigencia) tomaron la decisión de reemplazarme. No me voy a negar las cosas ni voy a hablar mal de nadie, trabajé con lo que me dieron.
“Es muy normal en Costa Rica, Wálter Centeno les vende más para mal que para bien. No se me olvida cuando en el 2010 se me señaló como uno de los culpables de no clasificar al Mundial (Sudáfrica).
“Nadie se dio cuenta de que cuando se acabó el torneo, se fueron 5 jugadores claves y no trajeron a nadie. Tengo mi grado de culpa, pero no toda la culpa es mía”, respondió el Paté.
El «Paté» terminó su gestión con Guadalupe tras 53 partidos dirigidos, los cuales se dividieron en: 15 triunfos, 10 empates y 28 derrotas, esto para un 34% de rendimiento.
