¡Primero la familia! Papá de Anthony Contreras renunció a su trabajo para acompañarlo en repechaje
“Me dio una gran alegría y ganas de llorar por ir a Catar a ver a mi hijo jugar”, manifestó Anthony Contreras padre.
Este martes la Selección Nacional de Costa Rica se enfrentará a su similar de Nueva Zelanda en Doha, en el decisivo repechaje intercontinental a la Copa Mundial de la FIFA Qatar 2022.
Sin duda será un momento inolvidable en la vida de todos los futbolistas del combinado patrio y para sus familias también. Por eso el padre de uno de los seleccionados, Anthony Contreras, no dudó en renunciar a su trabajo para acompañar a su hijo, del mismo nombre, en esta aventura futbolística.
En declaraciones a ESPN, Contreras padre, contó que en su trabajo no le concedieron los 11 días que necesitaba para realizar el viaje por lo que optó por renunciar en una empresa que brinda servicios a la Municipalidad de San José, porque quería acompañar a su hijo en uno de los partidos más importantes de su vida.
“Estábamos trabajando en eso, pero sucede que la directiva está cambiando y que el presidente tenía que firmar, usted sabe que existe la burocracia y hay una durabilidad para que los puestos se lleguen a concretar en La Gaceta, tenía que esperar y la situación se me estaba haciendo muy difícil entonces, pensaba que si el asunto seguía así yo tenía que renunciar, pero hablando con la familia decidí hacerlo porque no se me estaba dando la oportunidad entonces tuve que hacerlo”, declaró el orgulloso padre a ESPN.
Por el momento la preocupación no invade a don Anthony, pues sabe que luego de compartir con su hijo esta experiencia inolvidable algún trabajo le saldrá.
“Pero bueno, bien que mal, las cosas malas son para que Dios se manifiesta de mejor forma y más bien me han salido oportunidades para venir a Catar”, indicó.
Viaje sorpresa
El padre del futbolista comentó que hasta hace unos meses planeaba ver el partido en la casa de un familiar, pero una sorpresa llegó a sus vidas.
Según informó ESPN hace mes y medio una agencia de viajes le regaló tres campos al delantero de Guanacasteca para que sus familiares lo acompañarán en el partido de repechaje contra Nueva Zelanda. Esto gracias al desempeño que tuvo Anthony hijo en la Asociación Deportiva Guanacasteca.
“Yo no te puedo decir mis sentimientos, me dio una gran alegría y ganas de llorar por ir a Catar a ver a mi hijo jugar, yo me sentí muy conmocionado de una situación tan inesperada de estas. Uno no tiene (económicamente) para venir a un lugar de estos, estábamos más bien planeando ver el partido donde mi primo Johnny para ir ahí, pero usted sabe, no sabíamos esto y nos agarró por sorpresa”, manifestó el padre.
Junto a don Anthony viaja su hijo mayor, Rubén, y un pastor de la la comunidad de Pavas donde la familia reside pues ha sido parte importante en la vida del futbolista.
Para don Anthony este viaje significó una aventura: nunca se había subido a un avión, no había salido de Costa Rica y ahora ya conoce lugares como México, Suiza, Dubai y por supuesto Catar.
“Usted sabe que gente que no es acomodada económicamente que trabajamos día a día y con los que hay que pagar uno trata de trabajar y gracias a Dios a uno nunca le ha faltado, pero nunca como para tener para una salida como esta…para nunca haber salido, yo le cuento una cosa, es una gran bendición que Dios nos ha dado, Dios de la nada hace todo y cuando se pone la fe en Dios, Dios mueve sus fichas”, relató.
El padre del habilidoso delantero tiene un presentimiento: que Anthony Contreras anotará uno de los goles con el que La Sele obtendrá el cupo número 32 a la cita mundialista.
“Creo que vamos a ganar 2-0, siento que mi hijo va a hacer un gol y si bien, uno dice que si no lo hace él que lo haga cualquiera, pero vamos a ganar, vamos a clasificar y tengo la certeza que mi hijo va a hacer un gol”, concluyó.
