La presión para el partido de repechaje la tiene Costa Rica, manifestó este lunes el seleccionador de Nueva Zelanda, Danny Hay. “Sin duda Costa Rica”, dijo en conferencia de prensa al analizar el partido.
“Los medios de comunicación de todo el mundo nos han descartado y no nos dan ninguna posibilidad. Va a jugar el 31 frente al 101 del ranking de la FIFA, pero yo estoy durmiendo bastante bien y no estoy seguro de que su entrenador (Suárez) esté igual, porque tiene una enorme expectativa sobre sus hombros”, agregó.
Sin embargo, “son 11 jugadores contra 11 jugadores y todo se reducirá a pequeños momentos que decidirán el juego”, señaló Hay.
“Los neozelandeses están esperando un buen desempeño nuestro, nos hemos preparado todo lo mejor que hemos podido”, dijo Hay.
“La primera clave es enfocarnos en nuestro juego, concentrarnos en nosotros y jugar con mucho coraje, obviamente trataremos de neutralizar sus amenazas y ellos tienes algunas muy importantes”, añadió.
El técnico de Nueva Zelanda resaltó al delantero Joel Campbell y al volante organizador Celso Borges como las principales amenazas para su equipo.
“Necesitamos asegurarnos de hacerlo bien, pero en última instancia que remos tratar de concentrarnos en realizar un juego que creemos que nos conviene y no dejarnos arrastrar demasiado por Costa Rica”, declaró Hay.
Luis Fernando Suárez: “Nueva Zelanda es un equipo peligroso”
El seleccionador de Costa Rica, el colombiano Luis Fernando Suárez, manifestó este lunes en la previa del partido de repechaje para Catar-2022, que Nueva Zelanda es un equipo “peligroso y muy bueno”, aunque se mostró confiado de la victoria.
“Es un buen equipo Nueva Zelanda, es un equipo que juega muy sencillo, simple y eso lo hace muchísimo más peligroso”, señaló Suárez en conferencia de prensa.
Para el estratega cafetero, su rival de este martes “busca siempre salir jugando desde su arquero, casi siempre hace juego interior y en el último tercio, por lo general siempre abre el campo, una fortaleza de ellos es el fútbol aéreo”.
“Es un equipo que tiene su forma de jugar y me parece que hay que tenerle muchísimo cuidado”, agregó.
Costa Rica y Nueva Zelanda hoy, en Doha, el último boleto para el Mundial de Catar-2022. El ganador del duelo quedará encuadrado en el Grupo E, junto a Alemania, España y Japón.
