Reunidos en la llamada «Plaza Black Lives Matter» cientos de personas se congregaron para realizar una protesta contra el mandatario en el día de las votaciones en Estados Unidos.
Con música, baile y consignas políticas, cientos de partidarios del demócrata Joe Biden se congregaron en la noche del martes en la Plaza Black Lives Matter de Washington, al frente de la Casa Blanca, un lugar que se convirtió en un símbolo de la oposición al presidente Donald Trump.
Este paseo fue rebautizado como Black Lives Matter (Las vidas negras importan) después de la ola de manifestaciones contra el racismo tras la muerte en mayo de George Floyd, un ciudadano negro asfixiado por un policía en Mineápolis.
Desde la tarde, una multitud formada en su gran mayoría por simpatizantes de Biden se congregó para esperar los resultados en un ambiente festivo, con música funk y de un género propio de la zona de Washington conocido como go-go.
El barrio de oficinas que rodea este paseo es testigo del nerviosismo y todos los edificios están tapiados, con las ventanas cubiertas por placas de madera, y hay un importante dispositivo policial.
