Enfermero que probó la vacuna contra la COVID-19 espera que esté lista para Navidad
Joan Pons se presentó como voluntario en la Universidad de Oxford. Dice que en agosto sabrán si es efectiva, y que costaría 2 euros.
“Espero que esté lista para Navidad”, cuenta el español Joan Pons en diálogo con el medio argentino Todo Noticias. El enfermero de profesión de más de 20 años reveló que recibió un correo electrónico de la Universidad de Oxford, donde solicitaban voluntarios para la vacuna del coronavirus.
Pons no la pensó dos veces y decidió postularse y hace 10 días fue inyectado por primera vez. “Mi cuerpo reaccionó muy bien, no tuve ningún problema, solo un poco de dolor en el brazo como si me hubieran dado un golpe, pero desapareció en 24 horas”, siguió contando a Todo Noticias.
Joan explicó que tras aceptar ser voluntario para la vacuna del coronavirus, su esposa dejó de hablarle durante varios días. Sin embargo, esto no lo detuvo, pues conoce la “crueldad de este virus”, debido a que trabaja en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) de un hospital en Reino Unido.
“Me leí toda la documentación y decidí que, como ya estaba harto de este virus tenía que hacer algo, y eso era aportar mi granito de arena”, reconoció Pons, aunque confesó que cuando leyó “shock anafiláctico que puede producir la muerte” como uno de los posibles efectos adversos, sintió miedo.
El español siguió contando su experiencia en la Universidad de Oxford: «La verdad es que es una prueba y no se sabe exactamente cómo vas a reaccionar”. Tras ver que ninguno de sus compañeros sufrió efectos secundarios, espera que la vacuna sea efectiva y “que pueda estar lista para Navidad”.
