Messi se ‘baja’ de los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024
El astro argentino Lionel Messi confirmó que no participará en los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024, luego de los muchos rumores que apuntaban a que el jugador del Inter Miami podría, nuevamente, participar en el torneo pero ahora como refuerzo.
El delantero formó parte de la Selección albiceleste que obtuvo la medalla de oro en Pekín 2008, donde curiosamente estaba su también excompañero del FC Barcelona, Javier Mascherano, quien ahora es entrenador del combinado que irá a París.
En una entrevista para ESPN, la ‘Pulga’, que está en los Estados Unidos pero concentrado con su selección para defender el título de la Copa América, adelantó que no pugnará por su segunda medalla de oro olímpica en París como refuerzo del combinado Sub-23 argentino.
“Hablé con (el seleccionador Javier) Mascherano y los dos en seguida entendimos la situación. Es un momento difícil porque ahora está la Copa América y serían dos o tres meses seguidos fuera del club. A esta edad tampoco estoy para jugar todo y tengo que elegir bien los momentos”.
