“Si no ponemos freno a muchas cosas, Costa Rica se nos podría descontrolar”, dice arzobispo de San José
En un llamado a la reflexión profunda y la renovación espiritual, el Arzobispo de San José, José Rafael Quirós, compartió su perspectiva sobre el significado de la Semana Santa en una entrevista exclusiva con Diario Extra. Más allá de los siete días litúrgicos, el Arzobispo enfatizó la importancia de este tiempo como una oportunidad para el encuentro personal con Jesucristo y la transformación interior.
El Arzobispo Quirós destacó que la Semana Santa no se limita a una serie de rituales religiosos, sino que invita a cada individuo a prepararse para un encuentro íntimo con Jesucristo. “La Semana Santa es mucho más que siete días. Es fundamental disponerse a un encuentro personal con Jesucristo. Esta es la mejor forma de prepararse”, expresó.
Subrayó la necesidad de disponer nuestros corazones hacia la búsqueda del perdón y la misericordia divina, reconociendo nuestras faltas y renovando nuestra relación con Dios y con nuestros semejantes. “Debemos disponernos en el corazón, buscar perdón y la misericordia del Señor. Como seres humanos siempre debemos buscarlo, reflexionar y pedir perdón por todo aquello que no hayamos vivido respecto a su voluntad”, afirmó.
En sus palabras, la reflexión y la conversión emergen como los pilares fundamentales de este período sagrado. “Es un tiempo para encontrarnos con Cristo. La meditación debe ir en torno a nuestra propia vida y relación con el Señor, con nuestros hermanos”, señaló. Hizo hincapié en que ser discípulos de Cristo implica no solo una relación personal con Él, sino también un compromiso con la comunidad de creyentes.
El Arzobispo alentó a los fieles a aprovechar esta época para meditar en la Palabra de Dios y en el sacrificio redentor de Jesucristo. “En estos días se nos brinda la gran oportunidad de meditar desde la Palabra del Señor y el acontecimiento central de la historia de la humanidad: cuando el hijo de Dios entrega su vida por nuestra salvación”, expresó. Destacó que la misericordia divina está siempre disponible para aquellos que buscan sinceramente la reconciliación y el cambio de vida.
Además, Quirós abordó la cuestión de la violencia y la injusticia en la sociedad costarricense: “Lo que estamos viviendo no es gratuito porque cuando se saca a Dios de la propia vida, de las familias, de las instituciones, pues ese lugar lo ocupa otro. Hay manifestaciones de violencia, injusticia, falta de solidaridad (…) En eso no podemos decir ‘ahí está Dios manifestándose’. Yo creo que estos días son una enorme y gran oportunidad para rectificar de nuestra parte. En esta semana podemos cambiar actitudes que no están contribuyendo de manera positiva para la instauración de un reino de paz, justicia, caridad y solidaridad, que es el Reino de Jesucristo”.
“En cuanto a la persecución del crimen organizado y todo eso creo que los especialistas y autoridades están haciendo lo que pueden y les corresponde. Desde este lado tenemos la responsabilidad pastoral de que las personas que no están en un camino adecuado, que rectifiquen. Quien da sentido a la vida no son los bienes materiales, tampoco son los grandes capitales ni la ambición (…) Si no ponemos un freno a muchas situaciones, Costa Rica se nos podría descontrolar seriamente”, advirtió.
