Duro testimonio de madre que perdió a su hijo en incendios en Hawái: ‘Estaba abrazado con el perro’
Los familiares del niño de 14 años creían que este había logrado escapar de los incendios en Hawái, pero dos días después encontraron sus restos en casa. ‘Dios me lo guardó así, no en cenizas’, dice la mujer.
El día que hubiese cumplido sus 15 años, amigos y familiares de Keyiro Fuentes celebraron su vida en el mismo parque donde aprendió a caminar. Lamentablemente, el joven de familia mexicana murió cuando disfrutaba de su último día de vacaciones de verano y los incendios en Hawái arrasaron su pueblo, Lahaina.
Su madre adoptiva, Luz Vargas, estaba trabajando a unos 8 kilómetros. Cuenta que cuando ella y su esposo se percataron del fuego salieron de inmediato hacia su casa.
Cuando logro pasar el retén policial, un hombre le ofreció llevarla en su moto hasta el frente del incendio, donde los bomberos le aseguraron que todas las personas habían logrado ser evacuadas.
Dos días después, la familia al fin pudo regresar a su hogar. “Todo se había consumido, pero, cuando llegamos a su cuarto, él estaba ahí, acostado y abrazando al perro. Él no estaba como yo me lo imaginé, (para) ‘recoger las cenizas’ , Dios me lo guardó así para que viéramos que era él”, relata la mujer.
Hoy la familia lamenta no solo su muerte, sino la pérdida del futuro brillante de Keyiro Fuentes.
